Sandii Looi, 42
Sandii started organising singles events in 1996 to bring together singles from different walks of life. Gradually, she modified the programme to smaller groups of five-to-five dining and then speed dating. "Currently, I'm focusing on one-on-one matchmaking prorammes", she says. "My social event clients wanted more exclusive and efficient ways of meeting Mr or Ms Right".

She confesses to being completely absorbed with her job. "I honestly have not considered how this line of work has affected my love life. So much of my time and attention is focus on my clients." Thankfully, her other half shares her passion for making couples happy and is supportive of her business.

She does feel she has developed positive qualities as a result because she has to keep an open mind and look for the good points in people. "I've learned to tackle personal issues positively and also to be patient and a good listener," she explains.
